On Wednesday, Ogun State Local Government Pensioners have bemoaned, on the ominous pension payment by the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

The pensioners, begun protest at the State Government house in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta with Inscribe placards, but were denied entry.

Information disclosed to the PREMIER NEWS, confirmed aged pensioners demonstrated request of about three Billion Naira lodged in the Central Bank, Abeokuta Branch by Bureau of local Government Pension in 2010 meant for the payment of gratuities of local govt pensioners.

Inscriptions on the placards read, “Gratuities are on sale to Pensioners in Ogun state.”

“Governor Abiodun we local govt pensioners do not deserve this worst humiliation being experienced at this point in our lives, having expended all our blood and sweat to build up this state at our prime.”

“We demand N30,000.00 minimum pension to pensioners as against N5,000.00 minimum pension now being paid in Ogun State.”

Reacting to the allegations and complaints by the pensioners, the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi appealed to the protesting pensioners to be more patient with the government.

He said, “the government is currently experiencing hard times” as a result of the paucity of funds.

He further assured that the state government would look into the demands of the aggrieved senior citizens.
