Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has admitted that his side is under intense pressure to rewrite their continental story as they prepare for the CAF Champions League clash with US Zilimadjou of Comoros.
The Sky Blue Stars, who have stumbled at the first hurdle in their previous outings, will host Zilimadjou in the preliminary round first leg at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, on Sunday.
Ogunmodede, speaking ahead of the game, embraced the weight of expectation, insisting that his team is determined to push past their past failures.
“I use to tell people that my name is pressure, Daniel Ogunmodede pressure. I know there is pressure to progress but we will fight hard,” he declared.
Last season, Ghana’s Medeama SC dashed Remo Stars’ hopes with a first-round elimination. But the Nigerian club believes Sunday’s showdown offers a chance at redemption.
