Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has emphatically ruled out any presidential vacancy in 2027, asserting that emerging political parties stand no chance of governing Nigeria.

Speaking in Benin City on Wednesday while addressing 17 newly defected local government chairmen from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Okpebholo made it clear that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid is already in motion.

“There is no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027,” he declared. “Those forming new parties now cannot rule us. They governed their states, and their people suffered under insecurity. But since they left office, peace has returned. Such leaders cannot lead Nigeria.”

Charging party members to begin grassroots mobilization, Okpebholo urged them to erect billboards across their constituencies to amplify support for Tinubu’s second term. He predicted a resounding victory for the president, vowing that Edo State remains a stronghold for the APC.

Praising Tinubu’s governance, Okpebholo credited him with enacting bold reforms that previous administrations shied away from, including the removal of fuel subsidies. He extended gratitude to former Edo State Governor and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, APC State Chairman Jarret Tenebe, and party loyalists for their unwavering commitment to the party’s success.
