Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholor, has boldly declared that President Bola Tinubu will secure victory in the 2027 presidential election in Edo State, insisting that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) currently enjoys overwhelming support across the state.
In a viral video capturing his interview, Okpebholor vowed to resign if Tinubu fails to win the state in the next presidential contest. He argued that Edo people are fully aligned with the president, pointing to development projects executed under his administration since the APC took control of the state.
The governor dismissed claims of opposition presence in Edo, stressing that political support strongly tilts in favour of the ruling party ahead of 2027.
“There is no opposition here in Edo; everybody is for Asiwaju in this state,” he declared. “Tinubu is more popular than me in Edo State. If he doesn’t win the presidential election in Edo in 2027, I will resign.”
