On Monday, June 26, 2023, the acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, will meet with commanders of the 79 Police Mobile Force squadrons at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Egbetokun, who stated that this was in continuation of his vision and desire to achieve his goal of protecting the country, reassured Nigerians of the Nigeria Police Force’s willingness to protect lives and property.
CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, announced the news on Sunday in a statement obtained by our correspondent.
“In furtherance of his vision and painstaking drive to achieve his goals, the acting Inspector-General of Police will meet with Commanders of the 79 Police Mobile Force Squadrons on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Force Headquarters in Abuja, to upskill them on new operational strategies for improved training, deployments, and enhanced tactical engagements for better public safety and general security for all and sundry,” Adéjb said.
“The Ag. IG assures that the force’s current leadership has outlined a variety of policing approaches that will be extremely important to general public safety in Nigeria.”
“When the police arrived, the mob fled the scene, leaving the victim unconscious, where he was rescued and taken to Usmanu Danfodiyo Teaching Hospital Sokoto for treatment, where he was later pronounced dead.” Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to apprehend and prosecute the culprits.”
