Babatunji Wusu –
President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a two-week vacation in the United Kingdom, part of his annual leave. He left the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, with notable officials, including Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, present to see him off. Tinubu plans to use this time as a working vacation to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.
In a related note, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has urged President Tinubu to consider hiring military contractors temporarily to combat Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State, following recent attacks where six farmers were killed and five others abducted. Ndume emphasized that while the military and Civilian JTF have performed admirably, they are under-equipped to fully address the insurgency and banditry in the region.
