One dead, three rescued in Anambra accident

One man or woman died on Friday morning whilst three others have been rescued unharmed in a street accident in Awka, Anambra State.

The crash which happened round 6am, alongside Awka-Onitsha expressway, worried a Toyota Hiace bus and a Mercedes Benz Truck with 4 individuals on board.

An eyewitness stated the truck driver made a reverse to pressure towards visitors when he collided with the bus coming from the contrary direction, leaving one of the passengers in the bus dead.

“I suspect one of the passengers in the bus may have died in the crash,” the witness said.

Confirming the incident, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi attributed the reason of the accident to Route Violation.
