As a result of a conflict between the Oodua Peoples Congress, Amotekun, Operation Burst, Soludero, and a group of herders on Monday, there was palpable terror in Iwerele, Iwajowa Local Government Area, of Oyo State.
As of the time of publication, the conflict’s origins were still unclear. However, a titled Chief in the neighborhood reliably alerted about the altercation.
The report claimed that a group of herders had entered a farm in the neighborhood with their cattle and grazed on it, causing the owner to perish in the ensuing argument.
Additionally, according to information obtained by our correspondent, herdsmen assaulted the combined security operatives of Operation Burst, OPC, Amotekun, and Soludero who were sent to the region to restore calm. The number of fatalities has not yet been determined.
Adewale Osifeso, the state police public relations officer, was not picking up calls or responding to texts sent to his mobile number as of the time of publication, making it impossible to get his comment.
