Tunji Disu, the new Rivers State Commissioner of Police, has charged police operatives in the troubled Ahoada area of the state with tracking down and arresting notorious cultist David Gift Okpala Okpolowu, aka 2Baba, and his gang, who were involved in the killing of the Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Police Division, SP Bako Angbashim.
During his first visit to the problematic Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state, where Angbashim was killed and decapitated by cultists, Disu stated that he would not allow the murdering of police officers in the state, encouraging the officers to help him succeed.
While addressing officers of Ahoada Area Command and Division, the newly assigned CP asked the officers to give him success by arresting the perpetrators, saying that no one would kill a police officer and escape free.
The renowned cop warned policemen to stay safe in order to avoid injuries and fatalities during their activities in the area.
“I am here for us to see how we can catch these people who killed our cops,” he said. I’m aware of what you’re up to. I understand how difficult it is for you to enter all of those challenging regions. I want you to know that we will be there for you.
“I want you to know how seriously we value your work. I’ve decided that my first task will be to come over and tell you how essential you are to me. I appreciate what you’re doing.
“Be careful. In this case, I don’t want any of you to be shot or injured. Maintain the status quo and grant me success. Nobody will ever get away with murdering a police officer. Get the criminals to me.”
