-Defender eyes new challenge after standout NPFL season
-Eight goals in 49 appearances mark strong tenure at Benin club

Meyiwa Oritsemeyi has officially parted ways with Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Bendel Insurance following the expiration of his contract.

The solid defender, who was a regular feature for the Benin Arsenals throughout last season, confirmed his departure and expressed readiness to embrace a new chapter in his football journey.

“Now, it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings,” Oritsemeyi told Felele247 in a farewell remark that signals his ambition for growth.

During his time with Bendel Insurance, Oritsemeyi registered eight goals in 49 league appearances—an impressive record for a player in his position. His contributions proved vital to the club’s defensive structure and attacking set-pieces.

Although the club has yet to announce a replacement, Oritsemeyi’s exit marks a notable shift in Bendel Insurance’s backline heading into the new season.

The 24-year-old is now expected to weigh offers from top-tier clubs within and outside the country as the NPFL transfer window remains active.
