“The stakeholders should work hand in glove to ensuring that the security road map wherein the Orluzurumee youths are proposing is successful.
“The late Odumee was a vibrant counsel from Orlu zone who was so passionate for social development and economic wellbeing of his people. He was part of Orlu youths who are so anxious to redress the recent insecurity situation in our zone but unfortunately, he was consumed by the very issue he tried to tackle in his little capacity.”
“Barr Omekagu as he was fondly called will be missed by many both in Orlu zone, Imo State, and Nigerian in general especially the young family he left behind.”
Recall that the incident came just 24 hours after some gunmen murdered the priest-in-charge of St Andrew’s Anglican Church IhitteUkwa in Orsu local government area of the state, Rev. Emeka Merenu. Odume, a native of Umudara village in Amaifeke- Orlu, was called to the Nigerian bar five years ago.
The lawyer, who practised in Orlu, was said to be the attorney to some of those arrested in connection with the violence rocking the area.
