Victor Osimhen is set to return to Galatasaray on a permanent basis after rejecting offers from several top European clubs, a move that signals the striker’s belief in the Turkish club’s long-term project.
The 26-year-old Nigerian forward has reportedly agreed personal terms with Galatasaray, sealing a three-year contract with the Istanbul-based giants. This development was confirmed by Nigerian journalist Onyebuchi Onokala, popularly known as Buchi Laba, who revealed the update in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“Victor Osimhen rejected offers from top European clubs to return to Galatasaray,” Buchi wrote. “He was convinced by the project Galatasaray are building.”
Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, appears eager to continue his journey with the club. Negotiations between Napoli and Galatasaray over the activation of Osimhen’s release clause have been ongoing for several days. Sources close to the matter suggest that a deal could be finalized any moment.
Despite interest from high-profile European clubs, Osimhen’s decision to commit to Galatasaray highlights his confidence in the club’s sporting direction and ambition. His permanent switch could reshape the Turkish side’s attacking force ahead of the new season.
Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020 from Lille and quickly established himself as one of Europe’s most lethal forwards, helping the Serie A side to their first league title in over three decades. His return to Turkey marks a new chapter in his career, one that could further cement his legacy in European football.
