Premier News hereby clarifies its position regarding a video published by the organisation concerning allegations made against Tunde Ogunsakin and Angela Oviawe at a press conference organised by the Civil Society Coalition Against Corruption in Nigeria (CSCCN) in Abuja on 12 October 2026.
Following further inquiries into the allegations raised at the press conference, Premier News wishes to dissociate itself from the claims contained in the video and clarify that its presence at the event should not be construed as an endorsement of the allegations made against the two lawyers.
Further inquiries established that Tunde Ogunsakin is enrolled on the Roll of Legal Practitioners under the name Johnson Ogunsakin, while Angela Oviawe is enrolled under the name Angela Iziengbe Erharuyi and adopted the surname Oviawe after marriage.
In view of these findings, Premier News considers it necessary to clarify its position on the publication and reaffirm its commitment to accuracy, fairness, accountability and responsible journalism.
Premier News remains committed to ensuring that allegations are subjected to appropriate verification before publication and that the rights, reputations and interests of all parties are treated fairly in its reporting.
