Three days after the Oyo Government approved the reopening of schools, government offices, churches and mosques, the state has recorded the highest daily cases of coronavirus.

On Thursday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 103 new cases in Oyo.

Also, the agency’s total figure of 745 was the highest in one day since the outbreak in Nigeria.

On Monday, Oyo announced the resumption of classes for Primary Six, JSS3 and SS3 students from Monday, June 29.

It also approved the resumption of work by all categories of workers at the state secretariat from June 22.

Oyo also permitted the opening of mosques and churches to operate at 25 per cent capacity.

Public gatherings were limited to 25 persons per capacity.

However, the reopening decision has been condemned by the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).
