Tunji Wusu –

The Kano State Government has disregarded as untrue allegations that claimed it had criticized President Bola Tinubu’s palliative sharing formula for N500 billion.

Aminu Abdulsalam-Gwarzo, the state’s deputy governor, clarified the matter in a statement released on Saturday in Kano by his press secretary, Ibrahim Shauibu.

The deputy governor allegedly criticized the Tinubu-led administration for allocating N500 billion to boost Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) through the Bank of Industry (BoI), according to untrue reports, the deputy governor claimed.

“Gwarzo had referred to a news segment he watched on Thursday morning featuring Sen. Ali Ndume, who expressed concern about the allocation formula,” the statement reads in part.

In honor of the 2023 International Day of Cooperatives, the deputy governor made this comment while hosting a delegation from the Kano Cooperative Society at the Government House in Kano.

“The deputy governor made no mention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his statement.

“The allocation mechanism was created well in advance of President Tinubu’s inauguration.

As a result, the media misrepresented Gwarzo’s remarks and missed the point of his assertion.

Gwarzo was also described in the statement as reiterating the determination of the government, led by Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf, to continue steadfastly supporting President Tinubu’s vision for a peaceful and unified Nigeria.
