Elder statesman and Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) leader, Edwin Clark, has passed away at the age of 97.
The former Federal Commissioner for Information and revered South-South leader’s death was confirmed in a solemn statement by a family representative, Prof. C. C. Clark, on Tuesday.
“The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, OFR, CON, on Monday, 17th February 2025,” the statement read.
The family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support, promising to share further details in due course.
Clark’s passing follows closely on the heels of the death of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the esteemed leader of Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organization, who died just three days earlier at 96.
