One Pastor and two other people have been detained by Ogun State Police Command agents for the kidnapping, murder, and ritual dismemberment of Adekunle Muyiwa, 39, who was abducted.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Command’s spokesman, revealed this in a statement.

Idowu Abel, Clement Adeniyi, and Pastor Felix Ajadi were identified as the suspects by Oyeyemi in the statement on Tuesday.

He claimed that they were detained on Saturday as a result of a report made at the Owode Yewa Divisional Police Headquarters on November 15, 2022 by the victim’s older brother, Oluwaseyi Adekunle, who claimed that his younger brother had left the house on November 10, 2022, and hadn’t returned since.

Following the report, CSP Mohammed S. Baba, the divisional police officer for Owode Yewa Division, assigned his top investigators to solve the case of the man’s mysterious disappearance.

Abel was identified as the individual who visited the missing man’s home that fateful day to pick him up throughout their inquiry.

Abel was found, located, and taken into custody.

During questioning, Abel admitted that he had lured the victim, who also happened to be his best friend, outside and taken him to the property of his second conspirator, Clement Adeniyi, where he had killed and dismembered him.

He further admitted that a particular herbalist, whom Pastor Ajadi had introduced to him, had asked for a human head, heart, two hands, and legs.

He added that the alleged herbalist, who is currently at large, made him a promise to pay him N200,000 if he could procure the specified human parts for him.

He continued by saying that the herbalist had promised to pay the remaining N120,000 after receiving the goods and had made an advance payment of N80,000.

Abel went to his close friend Muyiwa Adekunle after receiving the advance cash and asked him to accompany him.

The victim, a longtime friend, followed him naively without suspecting any wrongdoing.

They killed him and mutilated his body after bringing him to Clement Adeniyi’s farm.

He had his head severed, along with his heart.

In the aforementioned property, the remaining pieces were hastily interred in a little grave.

Adeniyi and Ajadi were detained as a result of his confession, but the herbalist, who went by the name Abeeb nicknamed Boko, fled.

The immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Probe Department’s Homicide Section for a covert investigation has been ordered by the Command’s Commissioner, CP Lanre Bankole.

Additionally, Bankole ordered that the evading herbalist be found and arrested.
