The Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), led by Adolphus Wabara, in Abuja.

This comes amid ongoing reconciliation efforts between the Turaki-led NWC and the camp of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike. During a similar meeting on Wednesday, Turaki expressed openness to dialogue and noted positive signs that the two factions were moving toward a truce.

The Abdulrahman Mohamed-led caretaker committee, which is backed by Wike, has also stated its willingness to reconcile. However, the faction insisted that its planned national convention, scheduled for March 29 and 30, must proceed as planned.

Those in attendance at the ongoing meeting include Turaki, Wabara, former Niger State governor Babangida Aliyu, former Kano State governor Ibrahim Shekarau, and former information minister Prof. Jerry Gana.

This marks the third meeting held by the Turaki-led faction this week as efforts continue to heal divisions within the PDP.
