The camps of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike are preparing for the rescheduled PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on November 28. Last week, Wike, speaking to his supporters in Port Harcourt, vowed to continue challenging political figures like Atiku, Peter Obi, and certain PDP governors who oppose his alignment with President Bola Tinubu.
According to sources, Wike and his allies have been gathering in Abuja and Port Harcourt, focused on preserving recent court wins that favor their faction in the party’s internal conflict. The postponed NEC meeting now benefits their ally, Acting National Chairman Amb. Umar Damagum, allowing him more time in office.
Meanwhile, the Atiku camp faces setbacks following former National Chairman Dr. Iyorchia Ayu’s resignation and ongoing delays in finding a replacement from the North Central. The recent Federal High Court decision barring NEC from removing Damagum has further intensified the situation.
