Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has expressed surprise at the fact that the majority of Nigerian actresses had divorced their husbands.

In a recent interview on the “WithChude” podcast, Edochie discussed the latest wave of divorces in Nollywood.

He also alluded to the unsuccessful unions of Tonto Dikeh, Ireti Doyle, and Chioma Akpotha.

Most women, according to the 76-year-old actor, think the grass is greener on the other side.

The talented actress believes that women should be committed to their relationships “for better or worse” and take their wedding vows seriously.

Men and women are not treated equally in the household, according to Edochie. In our culture, a guy does not prostrate himself to present a woman with a ring.

“If you come to our industry today, most of our girls who got married two or three years ago have all left their husbands,” he claimed.

“I was even startled to learn that Tonto, Ireti Doyle, and Chioma Chukwuka had also left.

“You take a vow when you get married, for better or worse, you know that. For better or worse, not for us, please.

You’ll forever believe that the grass is greener on the other side. We all make the same error in judgment.

In October of last year, Edochie and his wife Josephine celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.

The actor has made a name for himself in the Nigerian film industry thanks to numerous accolades and awards.
