  • NNPCL lowers petrol price from N965 to N880 per litre
  • PETROAN calls the reduction a major relief for struggling Nigerians
  • Move follows Dangote Refinery’s price cut at partner stations

The Petroleum Retailers Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has lauded the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for reducing petrol prices, calling it a welcome relief for Nigerians grappling with economic hardship.

In a statement on Monday, PETROAN’s spokesperson, Joseph Obele, acknowledged the price cut, emphasizing its significance for consumers.

According to report, NNPCL slashed its retail price from N965 per litre to N880 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Reacting to the development, PETROAN’s National President, Billy Gillis-Harry, described the adjustment as a significant financial reprieve for the public.

“This reduction is a huge relief for many Nigerians struggling to make ends meet,” he stated, adding that the move is expected to ease the economic strain on households.

NNPCL’s price cut follows Dangote Refinery’s February 28 decision to lower its petrol price to N880 per litre at MRS filling stations and other affiliated outlets.
