The deaths of four teens in an automobile accident in Buffalo, New York, may have been related to a TikTok challenge, according to police authorities.
According to the New York Post, the “Kia Challenge” TikTok challenge invites people to break into Kia vehicles using mobile chargers. Marcus Webster, 19, Swazine Swindle, 17, Kevin Payne, 16, and Ahjanae Harper, 14, are named as the deceased youngsters. They were slain on Monday morning when the stolen Kia they were traveling in overturned, throwing them and one other passenger to the ground.
While the 16-year-old driver was treated and later released from the hospital, the fifth passenger, a 14-year-old girl, is described as being in good health at the Erie County Medical Center. According to reports, Harper, 14, just gave birth to a girl. On November 1, Harper was scheduled to celebrate her 15th birthday.
