Paul Pogba suffered another thigh injury on Tuesday during Monaco’s training camp in England, raising fresh concerns over his future at the club.

The 2018 France World Cup winner picked up the injury to his left thigh as Monaco trained at St George’s Park, shortly after the club defeated Liverpool in a friendly.

The setback comes just as Pogba was returning to group training following a lengthy spell dealing with right-knee problems. The 33-year-old has managed only one half of football for Monaco during pre-season, leaving questions over his readiness for the new Ligue 1 campaign.

Sources close to the situation indicate that the latest Pogba injury has left him some way short of the fitness level required to start the season.

His time at Monaco has already been disrupted by fitness problems. After serving 18 months of a four-year doping ban, Pogba featured in only six Ligue 1 matches last season and accumulated just 115 minutes on the pitch.

The latest Pogba injury adds to an increasingly difficult period since his return to football. Reports on Wednesday also indicated that Monaco could terminate his contract, with discussions reportedly linked to his persistent fitness problems.

For a player who once stood among the leading midfielders in world football, the latest setback could now have major implications for his future in the Principality.

Can Pogba overcome another injury setback and rebuild his career at Monaco?
