Babatunji Wusu –

No fewer than 124 individuals were detained by the Federal Capital region Police Command in different raids that were carried out all around the region.

Between Sunday and Tuesday, the raids took place, among other FCT neighborhoods, in Kabusa, Karshi and Nyanya, Dutse Alhaji, Mpape, Iddo, and Utako.

The FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said there had been significant raids both during the day and at night at the several flashpoints throughout the territory in response to a question from our correspondent about the raids seen in some areas of the FCT on Wednesday.

She claimed that the police were making a new effort to drive criminals from the area.

The CP has been working tirelessly over the past few weeks to make sure that the FCT is largely quiet for lawful inhabitants, according to Adeh. In our ongoing attempt to rid FCT of criminals, raids have been conducted continuously both during the day and at night in basic structures.

In a breakdown of the number of suspects detained, she said that so far in the ongoing operations, 124 individuals had been detained from black spots.

The suspects were being screened and questioned, Adeh said, adding that they will then be charged in court.

“Around 124 people have been arrested so far,” she stated. 37 people were detained on Sunday in Iddo, Utako, Mpape, and Nyanya. They contained dried leaves that were allegedly from Indian hemp. On Monday, 46 people were detained in Kabusa, Karashi, and Nyanya at crime hotspots. Tuesday saw the arrest of 41 people in Dutse Alhaji, Kabusa, Nyanya, and Mpape.

The suspects are presently being screened and questioned by several sections, and then they will be charged with a crime.
