Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been declared wanted by the police for allegedly attempting to murder three government officials.
According to a statement released by the Ogun State Police Command, Portable led an attack on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The victims—identified as TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were carrying out an enforcement exercise in the Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota area when the incident occurred.
The police report states that Portable, armed with a firearm and accompanied by nine accomplices, assaulted the officials, leaving them with multiple injuries. The victims managed to escape and reported the attack to the Ota Area Command, prompting an investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
While nine of his accomplices have been arrested, Portable has evaded capture and ignored multiple police invitations to appear at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Abeokuta.
“The suspect remains at large despite several formal invitations. Any individual found aiding or harboring him will face legal consequences,” the police statement read.
Authorities have called on the public to provide any relevant information that could lead to his arrest, emphasizing that those who assist in his evasion will also be held accountable.
