According to the Delta State Police Command, the traditional head of the Asamokwu Community was killed because of a dispute over the distribution of oil proceeds.

This was reported on Friday in Asaba by the state’s police public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

In the midst of a disagreement between the two communities in Delta State’s Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Obi Okwudiki Odumodu was beheaded on Thursday.

The criminals who executed the monarch also ambushed four troops, of whom three were instantly slain, while the other two were taken to the Federal Medical Center Asaba with injuries. This caused unrest in the neighborhood.

It was a community crisis, the state police PPRO claimed in a recent development. They are dragging money that was given to them by one of the local oil corporations.

The monarch was assassinated over a dispute about a derivation fund’s distribution formula between his village and a neighboring community.

The derivation is a topic of contention within the groups. The two groups are at odds with one another. So, a community crisis exists.

No suspects have been detained, according to Edefe, who also stated that attempts are being made to get the neighborhood back to normal.
