Once more, outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed branch, Eastern Security Network (ESN), have had their camp invaded by Nigerian army troops working with other sister security agencies in Ebonyi State.
on Friday morning indicated that soldiers from Sector II (Ebonyi) of the Joint Task-Force “Operation UDO KA” had invaded the camps of the Biafra agitators, which were situated in Mgbalukwu in Inyimagu, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi.
Based on reliable information obtained on Thursday, it was purported that this operation was conducted in coordination with the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Security (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
One IPOB member was eliminated as a result of the operation, while the others took cover in the surrounding bushes.
One AK-47 rifle, two magazines, 54 rounds of special 7.62mm ammunition, two portable radios, and three stolen Sienna busses were all successfully retrieved by the army.
In a statement released Friday morning in Enugu, the spokesman of “Operation UDO KA”, Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu noted that “The Force Commander Joint Task-Force South-East, Operation UDO KA, Maj.-Gen. Hassan Dada wishes to appreciate the synergy among the troops and other security agencies.
“All law-abiding citizens of South East Nigeria are all enjoined to continually provide timely, reliable and credible information through the Emergency Line 193 and then press Option two to speak to a call centre representative.”
