The Police Command in Adamawa has deployed additional assets to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the state goes off without a hitch.

The command also directed officers to maintain a high level of professionalism and human rights respect.

The Command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Yola.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Buhari will be in the state on Monday to kick off Sen. Aishatu Binani’s governorship campaign rally.

According to him, the additional operational assets included, but were not limited to, surveillance patrolmen, tactical/operational teams, the Police Mobile Force (PMF), and the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU).

“The teams are expected to conduct covert surveillance as well as confidence-building patrols throughout the state in collaboration with sister security agencies.

“The CP is assuring of synergy and good working relationship amongst all security agencies which will be put into place.

“And that the NPF is committed to working with other patriotic stakeholders towards ensuring public order in the State before, during and after the visit of Mr President.

“The CP, as the state’s head of internal security, is already on the ground to coordinate the security deployment and ensure that, all things being equal, Mr President’s visit goes off without a hitch,” he said.

Nguroje also stated that the CP has directed that vehicular movement be restricted, particularly those coming from the Sangere-Numan road to Yola town, to branch from the FGGC junction through Jambutu Motor Park to Doubeli Junction.

He advised those traveling from Yola town to the airport to take the 80 Housing units through the Commissioner’s Quarters down to the Mubi roundabout.

“While regretting any inconveniences caused, the Command urges the general public to conduct themselves and cooperate with security agents in the course of carrying out their constitutional mandate,” he said.
