POLICE IN ABUJA CONFIRM A WOMAN’S DEATH AFTER BEING HIT BY A TRAIN.

The woman was killed after being run over by a train in the Kubwa neighborhood of the nation’s capital, according to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command.

The FCT commissioner of police, Babaji Sunday, was quoted as saying: “FCT Police Command is aware of the unfortunate incident of Rail/motor fatal accident that occurred at Chikakore axis in the Kubwa Area council of the FCT,” in a statement released to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh.

“Crime scene investigators from the Byazin Divisional Police Headquarters sped to the location as soon as they received the information, took care of the situation, and found the victim had been declared dead by a doctor on the ground.

“The railway division with jurisdiction over the track has started an investigation. To prevent a repeat of the occurrence in the near future, existing safety recommendations and findings will be reemphasized.
