According to the police in Adamawa, 45 suspects were detained in September on suspicion of kidnapping, culpable homicide, and other offenses.
This was said during a press conference on Tuesday in Yola, Adamawa, by Ajina Musbahu, the deputy commissioner of police (DCP) in charge of operations.
After the investigation, he promised that every suspect will be thoroughly prosecuted.
In some areas of the state, he added, “45 individuals were captured during the month under review in connection with kidnapping activities, culpable homicide, rape, housebreaking, and theft, among other offenses.”
According to Musbahu, the exhibits taken from the suspects included N900,000 in cash, one car, two firearms—one pistol and the other a dane gun—eight rounds of live ammo, six cellphones, and other lethal weapons.
He expressed his gratitude to the state’s citizens and government for their assistance in safeguarding the safety of people and property.
Musbahu promised that the police would continue to work tirelessly to safeguard the lives and property of state residents.
In order to ensure a crime-free atmosphere for political campaigns and other electoral activities, he ordered all officers to step up security.
“The Command has created crime-fighting methods to open paths for the smooth voting process and safeguard public safety, law, and order during the elections,” he said. “Inactive preparations for the 2023 general elections.”
