In order to look into claims of incompetence and extrajudicial executions made against some of its officers working at Zone 13 Ukpo-Dunukofia and the Anambra State Command on social media, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) established a special investigation panel.

The accused officers, identified as Inspector Harrison Akama, CSP Patrick Agbazue, and Ukpo-Dunukofia (PPRO of Zone 13), all reported to the Force’s headquarters on Friday, February 17, at the request of Inspector General of Police Usman Baba.

The IGP announced these plans in a statement signed by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the Force. In the statement, the IGP noted that the panel had 14 days to produce a report on its inquiry into the claims, which were made public by a well-known social media blogger.

To help the panel conduct a thorough investigation, he also urged any member of the public who has knowledge of or experience with high-handed behavior, extortion, or extrajudicial killings by the officers in question to contact him at 08036242591 or by email at pressforabuja@police.gov.ng or igpmufhq@npf-c4i.com.

The Inspector-General of Police has assured that the results of the investigations will determine the next course of action, even as he pledges that the Force will stop at nothing to see that justice is served in the case and that any officers found guilty of wrongdoing receive the appropriate punishments.
Also, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force’s spokesperson, responded to the social media blogger asking him to speak with the Nigerian Police Force or him personally about the accusations.
