Adebisi Edionseri, popular socialite and businesswoman widely recognized as Cash Madam, has passed away at the age of 89 after a brief illness. Her death occurred on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, as confirmed by a family statement released by her child, Dr. Adebayo Adebowale.

Edionseri, a celebrated figure in Nigeria’s social scene for many decades, was not only a successful businesswoman but also an iconic symbol of elegance and luxury. Born in Ogun State, her fame extended far beyond the state, making her a household name across the country.

Despite her age, Edionseri maintained her status as a fashion icon. Her love for the finer things in life was evident in her choice of clothing, accessories, and jewelry. She was known to turn heads at every event, with her stylish presence leaving an indelible mark. Throughout her life, she lived with a devotion to fashion, beauty, and grandeur. By the late 1970s, she was already a millionaire in her 30s, with her generosity benefiting numerous musicians of that era.

It was in the 1980s that she earned her moniker “Cash Madam” from the legendary Juju musician, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey. Known for her flamboyant lifestyle, Edionseri was a constant feature at high-profile social gatherings, where her vibrant personality and fashion choices made her the life of any party.

Even as an octogenarian, Edionseri continued to live life to the fullest, attending events and parties hosted by her affluent associates, still showcasing her impeccable taste in fashion and dazzling diamond jewelry.
