Although Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, feels that it is not the appropriate time to play Manchester United, the team may be the subject of media stories regarding discord in the locker room.
The Blues enter the match on the heels of a 3-2 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion at home, while United lost 1-0 at Newcastle United on Saturday. Erik ten Hag, the manager, has refuted reports of dissatisfaction within his team.
Pochettino told reporters on Tuesday, “I don’t say it is a good moment to go there. I think we are all in a similar level with different situations.”
The squad we play against is going to be difficult because they want to win, and our goal is to maintain our momentum, improve from Brighton, and finish high in the standings. It is imperative that we occupy a distinct position.
Pochettino chose to focus on his own team’s future rather than discuss the state of affairs at United.
“I’m not the right person to discuss what goes on at various clubs. I enjoy working on this project here,” he remarked.
“I’m concentrating on my club. We must perform better. I can describe the procedure, but I never compare it to that of another club. We are creating something that we think will be fantastic; all it takes is some time and money to achieve our goals.
Nonetheless, the Argentine spoke well of Ten Hag, the former manager of Ajax Amsterdam, and expressed support for United.
“Amazing coach. I recall that during my time at Tottenham, we faced Ajax in the Champions League semifinals. We haven’t had the pleasure of seeing him since the semifinal, so I believe it’s fantastic to see him after four years.
Long-term absences Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku are still out, and Noni Madueke and Lesley Ugochukwu will also miss the United match, according to Pochettino’s confirmation.
With 19 points, Chelsea sits five points behind United, who are ranked seventh in the Premier League.
