Pre Tinubu

The next ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) chairman is expected to be President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

President Tinubu is anticipated to succeed President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau, according to an exclusive revelation by The Cable. President Tinubu departs Abuja on Saturday ahead of the Sunday gathering of the heads of state of the regional political and economic bloc.

The capital of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Bissau, will host the 63rd regular meeting of the authority of heads of state and government.

In 2018, the position was formerly held by former president Muhammadu Buhari. At the ECOWAS conference, Tinubu, who succeeded Buhari as president of Nigeria on May 29, 2023, will travel outside of Africa for the first time.

Recall that in June, he went to the ‘A New Global Financing Pact’ event that French President Emmanuel Macron organized in Paris.
