President Tinubu Appoints Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as NYSC Director-General

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), marking a leadership change in the national program. Until his appointment, Brigadier General Nafiu served as the Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, a role he also held under the late COAS, Lt. General Raised Abiodun Lagbaja.

A seasoned military officer, Nafiu is an Artillery Officer and a member of the 47 Regular Course. He has undergone extensive military training, including studies at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Nigeria and the US Army War College. Before his tenure as Chief of Staff to the COAS, he contributed to military strategy and training as a Directing Staff at the Army War College, Nigeria.

Hailing from Ileogbo in Aiyedire Local Government Area of Osun State, Nafiu brings years of leadership and military expertise to his new role. His appointment is effective immediately, succeeding Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed.

With his extensive experience, Brigadier General Nafiu is expected to bring strategic leadership to the NYSC, ensuring the continued effectiveness of the scheme in fostering national unity and youth development.
