Tunji Wusu –
According to President Tinubu, the government of Nigeria is collaborating with labor organizations to establish a new national minimum wage for workers in the country.
On July 31, 2023, Tinubu stated in a national broadcast that employees need to be aware of impending compensation reviews.
In the same line, we are collaborating with the labor unions to establish a new national minimum wage for workers, he continued. I want to let our employees know that their pay will soon be reviewed.
We will make budgetary provisions for the new minimum wage and general upward review as soon as we come to an agreement.
I’d want to take this chance to thank the many private firms who have already started offering employees general wage reviews. My fellow Nigerians, there is no denying that this time has been difficult for us.
But I kindly request that you all focus on the bigger picture and look past the short-term discomforts right now.
