Primate Elijah Ayodele, the head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has urged President Bola Tinubu to give the N35,000 salary increase for federal employees some serious thought.

Primate Ayodele stated that the increase will cause greater hunger and inflation in the nation in a statement that was signed by his media assistant, Osho Oluwatosin.

He regarded it as erroneous counsel that was carried out in a hurry.

He claimed that the purpose of the raise would not be served because of the corruption that would occur during its distribution, and that as a result, neither the governor nor the employees would benefit.

”The increase in workers’ pay of N35,000 adds another hunger. It will get worse if the government doesn’t take a good look at it. I’m not sure how the government plans to implement it, but inflation will result.

“There will be corruption in the distribution, so the government won’t be able to do anything. It’s unwise advice.

The clergyman made it clear that instead of the increase, the administration should have asked for more time to establish sufficient and long-lasting strategies to salvage the economic situation.

He predicted that living expenses would rise and that advancement would not be made.

”Both the government and the employee will not benefit from it. I’m not sure how NLC views it, but it won’t make anything better and will just make the suffering worse.

“The administration ought to have asked for additional time to properly plan it. High living expenses will result from it.

“Prices of things will start to rise now; the government should carefully consider this.” I don’t see much improvement, and our economy will suffer more as a result.
