In a match that might make or break its season, Paris Saint-Germain is hopeful that injured star Kylian Mbappe will recuperate quickly and play against Bayern Munich on Tuesday in the Champions League.

Mbappe returned to the training field on Sunday and again on Monday after being sidelined for three weeks due to a thigh injury he sustained in a match at Montpellier on February 1.

The 22-man team for the first leg of the round of 16 at Parc des Princes included the France superstar, indicating that he will participate in some capacity against the German powerhouses.

There are no assurances that the 24-year-old, who scored seven goals in six games during the group stage, will even be picked as a substitute for the game, according to PSG coach Christophe Galtier.

Although the feedback on his training was good, it is still uncertain whether he will be listed on the team roster. Tomorrow morning, we’ll have a look at everything, Galtier told reporters.

When PSG declared the France superstar wouldn’t be ready for the opening leg, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann earlier said the French club was engaging in mind games.
