QUEEN ELIZABETH WELCOMES GREAT-GRANDCHILD

On Saturday, Her Royal Highness, Princess Beatrice has given birth to a baby girl, the 12th great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II.

The announcement was made via a statement published on the Royal Family’s official website on Monday.

“Her Royal Highness, Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London,” the statement read.

It was also revealed that the baby girl weighed 6 pounds and 2 ounces at birth.

Thanking staff members of the hospital for the safe delivery, the couple said they are looking forward to introducing the new child to her step-brother, Christopher Woolf.

The new mother also took to her Twitter page to announce the arrival of the baby.

“So delighted to share the news of the safe arrival of our daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London. Thank you to the Midwife team and everyone at the hospital for their wonderful care,” she tweeted.

Her Royal Highness, Princess Beatrice, 33, is the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the Duke and Duchess of York.

She got married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, in July 2020 at a private ceremony in Windsor Castle, which was scaled down due to Covid-19.

While the new baby is Princess Beatrice’s first child, Mr Mapelli Mozzi already has a son from a previous relationship.

The new child is the fourth royal baby born this year. Princess Beatrice’s younger sister, Princess Eugenie, gave birth to a baby boy, Philip, in February; Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne, gave birth to a son, in March, while Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their second child in June.
