The House of Representatives has rejected a proposed bill to reduce the tenure of the president, governors, and lawmakers to a single term of six years.
The bill, sponsored by Ikenga Ugochinyere and others, was debated during Thursday’s plenary session but failed to gain the lawmakers’ approval.
The proposal aimed to amend the 1999 Constitution to implement the reduced tenure, but it was ultimately voted down by the House.
