Babatunji Wusu –
The administration of Rivers State has stated that it is untrue to have halted work on the 50.15 km ring road project, which Governor Siminalayi Fubara approved for building in July.
Julius Berger Nigeria Limited was given the project, which came with a N195 billion price tag.
Joe Johnson, the Commissioner of Information and Communications, stated in a statement that the project cannot be put on hold until 77% of the agreed-upon amount has been paid.
According to Johnson, the contractor is already working to make sure that the project, which should be finished in three years, gets done on time.
We would like to let the people of Rivers and the wider public know that this information is untrue. Nothing can stop the project at this point because it is for the betterment of our beloved state’s economy and advancement,” he stated.
In addition to advising information and news management “to always verify their stories before going to the public space,” he urged the public to ignore the reports.
