Super Eagles forward Sadiq Umar has breathed new life into Nigerian football with the acquisition of Nigeria National League side Ranchers Bees.

The Real Sociedad striker joined forces with prominent politician Bello El-Rufai to purchase the Kaduna-based club, once a dominant force in the early 1990s. The deal marks a strategic push to restore the Bees’ glory and secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) next season.

In a swift leadership change, Nura Abdullahi, a former teammate of Sadiq, has been appointed club president. The move signals a fresh chapter for a team that produced legends such as Daniel Amokachi, Dominic Iorfa, and Davidson Owumi.

Ranchers Bees, famous for their WAFU Cup triumph in 1993, slipped into obscurity in subsequent years. The new owners vow to rebuild the club’s competitive edge and reestablish its place among Nigeria’s football elite.
