Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed the need for accurate data and measurable outcomes as the foundation for effective governance and stronger political party structures.

Speaking through his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, at the official flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-West E-Membership Registration Hands-on Device/Application Programme held Tuesday at Lagos House, Marina, Sanwo-Olu said that “whatever cannot be measured cannot be managed.”

He explained that credible data management and consistent evaluation are vital to sustainable growth—both in governance and politics. The governor noted that building a comprehensive membership database would help the APC improve internal communication, deepen engagement, and boost election preparedness.

“As a political party, we must be able to measure our members. That’s the only way we can manage effectively. We need to know who our members are, where they are, and how they feel about governance. It shouldn’t only be during elections that we scramble for information,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized the need for two-way communication between the government and citizens, saying accurate data collection will allow the party to better understand members’ needs and public perception.

He restated Lagos State’s commitment to transparency, efficient data management, and people-centered governance. The governor also urged participants to strengthen the APC’s digital infrastructure to sustain its record of electoral success.

Commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing what he described as “tough but necessary” reforms in the economy and petroleum sector, Sanwo-Olu said the policies are beginning to yield visible results. He called on APC members to continue supporting the administration’s reform agenda, assuring that the ongoing measures will deliver sustainable growth and long-term benefits for Nigerians.
