Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal, widely known as the ‘Sleeping Prince,’ has died—19 years after slipping into a coma from a devastating car crash in 2005.

The young royal, nephew to billionaire businessman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, passed away on Saturday, marking the end of a long medical battle that captivated hearts across the Arab world.

Hospitalized since the crash, Prince Al Waleed became an enduring symbol of hope, patience, and spiritual strength for millions. Despite his unresponsive state, his family and admirers held onto faith for a miraculous recovery, with occasional movements from the prince sparking fresh waves of optimism over the years.

His death was confirmed by family members, who also announced that his funeral will be held in Riyadh on Sunday.
