SAVE OUR SOUL: YOUTH GROUP RAISE ALARM ON IMPOSITION OF CANDIDATES.

*Imota LCDA Party leader fingered in such attempt*

A group known as the *ikorodu division not too young to run* has petitioned the APC apex party leaders on an alleged attempt by party officials to foist their preferred candidates on the party members. A scheme which the group described as a coup and also against to the APC party constitution.

According to the group, according to information at our disposal some party officials are threatening other party officials and members to unanimously adopt their choice candidates in an attempt to impose the candidate on the party before the scheduled party primaries. We also understand that this attempted coup is taking place in areas within ikorodu division especially Imota LCDA where youths are contesting in the primary elections.

A further investigation by this newspaper reveals that the APC party chairman in imota LCDA, hon ramoni akinyemi has imposed candidates, which he singlehandedly selected, as the party candidates for councillorship position in the forthcoming local government elections.

According to our source, who wants to remain anonymous, the LGA party chairman who is supposed to be an unbiased umpire, also doubles as the chairman of a group within the party known as the omo rere campaign group, a move that is against the party constitution.

Our source claimed he used his office to threaten members not to contest against the present chairman. He has now sponsored councilorship candidates from each wards and has threatened party members to unanonimously adopt his choice candidates from the omorere group for the party.

Several calls attempt made by this newspaper to honourable ramoni akinyemi to hear his side proved abortive.
