The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, would prevail in Rivers State despite the absence of support from Governor Nyesom Wike, according to Uche Secondus, a former national chairman of the PDP.
When Secondus took part in an Arise TV program yesterday, he spoke.
As they urged Iyorchia Ayu to resign as the party’s national chairwoman, Wike and his G5 allies, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, withdrew from the party’s presidential campaign.
The Rivers governor disqualified a last-minute reconciliation with Atiku last week by pointing out that he had already told the state’s residents how to vote in the presidential election.
In response to the development, Secondus stated that despite “anybody’s ego,” “the people themselves are sure that on that day they are voting Atiku and PDP.”
