Security was on Monday beefed up in and around Kano Government House, after the Supreme Court’s verdict that affirmed Abdullahi Ganduje, as the duly elected governor of the state.

It was gathered that security was also beefed up in other parts of the city to protect lives and property.

Security operatives were also deployed in and around the Emir’s palace road as well as other strategic locations.

It was gathered that the measure was to ensure that people go about their normal businesses.

Security operatives were also seen at Dorayi, Gidan Murtala and other areas considered to be volatile.

This is following the invasion of government house by APC supporters shortly after the court verdict in jubilation, chanting victory songs.

It would be recalled that Supreme Court on Monday upheld the election of Ganduje as Governor of the state.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta declared that the grounds of the two appeals brought by the appellant were dismissed for lack of merit.
