Lawal Yahaya Gumau, the incumbent senator who previously ran for reelection in Bauchi South Senatorial District on the platform of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP), along with his campaign coordinators and hundreds of supporters, have defected from the NNPP to the state’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, the state governor and gubernatorial candidate for the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, has therefore seen his reelection campaign gain momentum (PDP).
When he took his supporters, coordinators, and well-wishers to a Friday interactive session with the Governor at Ramat House in Bauchi, Senator Lawal Yahaya Gumau made this announcement.
By doing so, he expressed his support for the Governor’s bid for reelection and gave orders to all of his supporters in the Bauchi South Senatorial District to cast a sizable number of votes for Bala Mohammed and all of the PDP’s candidates for State Assembly in the upcoming elections for governor and state assembly.
The federal member claimed that the governor had exceeded expectations and both average performance, necessitating widespread support for his reelection campaign in order to carry out additional development initiatives in the state’s and its citizens’ best interests.
He claimed that the personality that drew us to the party was more significant than the party itself. I joined the PDP again because of Kauran Bauchi, who I look up to as my leader, mentor, and someone I should always emulate if I want to be successful in politics.
He emphasized, “I became the governor now because I want my people to experience the benefits of democracy, and after careful research, I found that Kauran Bauchi is the best; his performance is the primary factor in our decision to work with him.”
“My followers should thank God that we have a trustworthy leader,” he emphasized, “Governor Bala Mohammed is the kind of leader who would remember that he has a duty to do things even without being asked.”
Yahaya Gumau added, “We must vote for His Excellency to enable him to continue doing his wonderful work for our dear Bauchi State. He is working not necessarily on what others are asking him to do. He does what he believes is beneficial for his people.”
Bala Mohammed responded by extending a warm greeting to Senator Lawal Yahaya Gumau, his followers, and his campaign managers on behalf of the state’s governing People’s Democratic Party.
In order to help all of the PDP candidates win the upcoming governorship and state assembly elections in the state, the governor vowed to give them an equal playing field.
He emphasized that his administration will continue to serve all of the state’s residents equally, without discrimination, and that every settlement would be affected by at least one development initiative.
