-Senate Approves Massive Youth Recruitment into Police Force
30,000 Fresh Officers to Bridge Security Gaps Nationwide

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the recruitment of 30,000 additional youths into the Nigeria Police Force as part of efforts to strengthen internal security and close existing manpower gaps.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori (Jigawa North East), made this known to journalists during a media briefing in his office at the National Assembly.

According to Madori, the Police Service Commission (PSC) received full approval from the Federal Government to proceed with the large-scale recruitment drive in 2025. He revealed that the decision aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to revamp the nation’s policing structure and enhance community security.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the commission the go-ahead to recruit 30,000 officers every year to fill the gap in the Force,” the Senator stated.

He stressed that the recruitment will be widely announced through national newspapers, ensuring transparency and public awareness. Madori also issued a strong warning to job seekers, urging them to avoid scammers and fraudulent recruitment agents.

“The Police Service Commission will make official announcements. Nigerians must be vigilant and not fall into the hands of scammers,” he warned.

The move is expected to bolster Nigeria’s fight against crime, increase police visibility in local communities, and address long-standing concerns over inadequate personnel within the Force.

With insecurity remaining a major concern across many regions, stakeholders believe the recruitment will not only create employment but also improve law enforcement response times and restore public trust in the system.
