The originally scheduled Senate plenary has been moved to March 21, 2023.

The last time the Red chamber met, the plenary session had been postponed to Tuesday, March 14, 2023 because of the governorship elections.

To give senators running for governorships the opportunity to participate in the elections and campaigns, Senate President Ahmad Lawan moved the plenary to March 14.

To engage in the campaigns and elections for governors and state assembly members, he declared, “We must unite.”

The Senate Clerk, Chinedu Akubueze, announced a further postponement of the plenary in a copy of the document.

Our correspondent obtained a copy of the message, which said in part, “This is to remind all Honorable Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that the resumption of the Senate in Plenary has been postponed from Tuesday, March 14, 2023 to Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

By this notice, all distinguished senators are requested to return to the plenary on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 10 a.m.

Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy Senate President, Senators Aishatu Binani (APC-Adamawa), Haliru Jika (NNPP-Bauchi), and Sandy Onor are among the senators running for governorship positions (PDP-Cross River).

APC-Kadana Senator Uba Sani, APC-Taraba Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, APC-Oyo Senator Teslim Folarin, APC-Akwa Ibom Senator Albert Bassey.
